I got a text responding to the for sale ad on Craigslist for my Jeep. I got a call from a Scranton PA number first, but they hung up (I’m in Oregon) then a text asking if my Jeep was available, using weird punctuation. Then they seemed to ignore my response and l, in poor english, ask me to generate a vehicle report on autobeepreports.com so they could check it out. I told them the car was sold but they kept bugging me, not seeming to take note of my text. The website asked for a VIN number, then asked for my name, number, and email to send the report to. That’s something that CarFax has never done to me, so that was a red flag as well.
