I am a professor in an academic medical center and received an e mail inviting me to submit my research for a peer review. I was assured if accepted that my work would be published in a peer-reviewed journal (and presumably be listed in PubMed). BEWARE! The manuscript I submitted was reviewed and ultimately accepted. I receive the page proofs which I corrected (and then corrected again). Only AFTER acceptance was I informed that there would be a $ 1800 fee for publication. No where on the website or e mail interactions was this ever mentioned. Regardless I paid the fee in October. Then I got a message in February that they had not cashed the check so I issued another one. I continue to get invoices from them which I will NOT pay as the second check was cashed. I have tried calling the only number in the e mails sent to me and the phone goes to VM and I cannot leave a message. This is truly a SCAM COMPANY that is involved in "predatory publishing". Do NOT submit here.
