I received a call from Ms. Shyane Taylor who worked for Attorney Knocks(?) at 719-212-8984. I was advised Attorney Knocks(?) was unavailable to speak with but Ms. Taylor at ext: 403 was advising that I was being sued by an online cash advance company and today was the deadline for me to make a decision on whether to pay them back or the issue would be turned back over to the state to be drug into court with two counts of malicious intent to defraud a company and facing up to two years in prison. I supposedly owe $1506.50 in restitution but they were willing to waive the collection company's fees for failure to collect. I was then told I owe $1275.74. They had my name, prior address from four years ago, last four digits of my social security number, my phone number and my current employer (with whom I was also employed by four years ago). They claim to have attempted to contact me by mail to the prior address. I have a p o box that all my mail from that address is forwarded and I have never received a letter from an "online cash advance company". She was not able to provide the name of the company that I received said funds from, nor the amount borrowed. Also, she was not able to provide me a copy of the documents indicating I owe the amount of money to ANYBODY. She through some legal jargon at me and advised I needed to have my attorney file to get a copy of the documents as she is representing the company suing me and was not allowed to provide the documents that I was requesting. Ms. Taylor did advise that they were willing to settle out of court for the sum and willing to allow a three installment payback bi-weekly. I was allowed to make my first payment 1/15/16 and the lowest she could allow me to pay is $350.00. I am ONLY allowed to pay using a credit, debit, or prepaid card and I had to have a valid fax number or email address. I asked for more time as this was news to me and I needed time to get the money together and time to look into this matter and she rushed me that this was my last day or else go to jail. I agreed to the payment plan with an agreement that I would call back Monday 1/11/16 to provide the email address and information I needed to provide an attorney.
