Call from my very upset "son" saying he was in a car accident, they said he was drinking (he claimed otherwise), he had been arrested, they had his cell and he was calling from lock up. He told me I needed to call the lawyer they had provided and gave me the number. Caller sounded very distressed very believably like my son with weirdly specific details. "Lawyer" Attorney Bernstein, gave additional information about the accident, a docket number and the number for the court. "Court" gave more details and need for bail. Child to be transferred hours away due to covid (space concerns). Court directed me to call lawyer again regarding bail and paperwork to prevent transfer further away. Lawyer directed me to go to bank for money transfer (end of day with bank about to close - so more panic). Luckily by this point i was able to contact my husband who was in contact with said child. Called back each of the numbers to express my displeasure with their lack of morals. Original call - number was no longer in service. Others (lawyer and Court) hung up then didn't answer.
