Received message for half price off our ATT/Direct TV bill if we sent $480.00 with a Ebay debit card. Called this number and gave them debit card for discount...but no response in 24 hours for adding HBO and Showtime. So called ATT several days later and they said this is a SCAM! Now I am out $480.00!

Guy said I'd been selected to receive 50% discount on my tv bill because of a joint effort with eBay. I was told my channels would all remain same plus he offered me a FREE movie channel. I would need to pay the new discounted price of $55 mo. For 10 mo. In advance. And this would need to be paid to our billing office using eBay gift cards. He went on to describe where I could purchase these & that multiple ones could be used for the $550. He sent me a confirm # & phone # to billing office. Then he mentioned their $100 in 100 minutes additional offer: go get cards & call business office within 100 minutes & AT&T will send me a $100 visa gift card. I have a text from him with the business office # & my authorization #

Was told if I sent $500 I wouldn't owe a bill for 6 months and monthly payments would go down $100 a month for 3 years.

A text was left on my mother's phone saying "Satellite TV: Your TV Account has a promotion available. Call 877-310-0340 to sign up and receive 50% on your monthly bill." When you call the number it's answered as ATT/Direct TV with 5 options one being for promotional deals. When you go to that, they ask your name and say they pull up the account information and ask for the 4 number pin code which I didn't give them and then they asked for the last 4 numbers of your social security number which I didn't give them. They said they could still do the promotion which was pay $560 up front for the next four months and their would be no bill for four months, then after that, it would be $140 a month for 3 years. Then they said to call 888-585-3050 to make a payment, but the payment needed to be paid with a prepaid Ebay card from the store. If necessary, get three cards of $200, $200 and $160. When you call the 2nd number to pay, ATT/Direct TV answers the phone with 5 options. One to pay a bill. I did not do anything except I did receive an authorization code from the first person which was DT**** in order to pay. I knew this was a scam and it was directed toward my 93 year old mother.
