received call from 800-922-0402, they said they were AT&T fraud prevention they said my phone #, asked to verify it was mine, I said yes, , continued to say some one had ordered 5 phones to be sent to another state ( not the address of account) did I order them? I replied no, I did not, but I am not the owner of this account, you need to talk to him. " Oh, no, order was from your phone # we can only talk to you." I thought it sounded fishy, so I hung up on them and they called right back. I immoderately notified the owner of the account, he called AT&T fraud support, it WAS NOT them that called, the caller was actually already logged in the that account, making the fraudulent purchase as I was speaking to him., I was put on hold, so I hung up again, he called back from another # 800-927-7509, probably both spoofed numbers. Thankfully, the owner of the account was able to stop purchases before they were completed. Lesson here. AT&T ( or other companies )will NEVER call you and ask for info on your account. Thankful we were on top of it, could have been bad.
