Same happened to me today. Contacted me through Craigslist and insisted I run the report as his loan officer told him to... To pay 25$ for report. I actually tried registering to get the report but stopped and didn’t purchase it. However, now they have my first and last name, email and vin number. I wonder how they can use this information.

Person contacted me through Craigslist where I have a car posted for sale. He states his loan officer needs me to run a vehicle title report through a SITE he provided to me. Its an unfamiliar site and i refused to run the report unless he comes to meet me in person and review the car. That seemed to end the conversation

Somebody is also asking me for the Atitle check. I'm going to go ahead and ask him if carfax is okay.
