SAME.. I received the same offer for employment. Job required computer equipment etc a long list of items was provided. I was told they would send prepayment check for purchase of equipment through a preferred vendor. All the "interview" was through Google hangouts via text. So I did some research. The company address 381 34 Ave East Tuscaloosa, AL 35404, pulls up an apartment building. The next morning I let the know the scam was over. They had initially gotten my name, address, email and phone number. Before I became suspicious.

I applied to Athenics Consulting Columbia, SC for a remote Data Entry Position on Indeed. I was contacted through email from Deborah Jameson, [email protected] fairly soon after applying. I was told to message Mrs. Julie Turner, [email protected] via Google Hangouts. I downloaded the app, messaged Mrs. Turner. I never had a conversation over the phone or video. Only messaging. I was asked odd questions during the interview process, example: What bank do you bank with and how old are you/ your sex. These are not average questions. There were many grammar discrepancies throughout the messaging on their behalf. I was offered the job, I was told I need working materials for the position and they sent me a check via overnight FedEx for almost $7,000. I called First National Bank and Trust Company that was on the check, the check was from WI which did not make sense as the job posting was SC and the company, based off the website is located : 381 34 Ave East Tuscaloosa, AL 35404. The account, routing and check number did not align with the banks normal check format. The check was from Brabazon Title Team Group LLC Escrow/Closing Account 2225 Cranston Road, Suite 101 Beloit, WI 53511. The website to the company is called Athenics Contractors. I called the phone number provided on the website, 410-612-3311. It was not active. They have received my address, email, phone number, full name. I have not be affected by this scammer that I am aware of, other than them having some personal information. This needs to be shared to prevent others to falling victim to this scammer.
