I received a voicemail saying DirecTV was offering me a 50% discount on my monthly bill. To get the discount, I needed to call the number on my caller ID, which was not the usual number I call for DirecTV. I called the number and they were going to reduce my bill by 50% for the next 3 years but I had to pay the first 8 months upfront. I told them I would think about it and call back if I was interested. I then called the usual number I call for DirecTV and they confirmed it was a scam.
