Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency
Got a phone call on July 5, 2017 from someone saying he was my grandson and was in jail for vehicular manslaughter. Needed $7000.00 to get out and I was told to tell no one. This person gave me the name of Ken Thompson, Case #01A2929. The money was needed for an out of court settlement. Later that same day, got another call from someone else supposedly from the DA's office. My husband talked to this person and asked for more information such as badge number or employee number and that person hung up. This morning July 6, 2017 got another phone call asking for money to get grandson out of jail. My husband told him to give us his address so we could send him the money. Husband pretended to be tired of bailing out this grandson and wanted to pay him off make the arrest go away. Person hung up on my husband. We did not give any personal information to these people.
