I initiated online interest in being paid as a secret shopper. I gave my basic contact info and did not hear anything again. A couple weeks later I received a cashiers check from ASCENTRA CREDIT UNION for $2890.35 and instructions. I was to go to my bank, cash the check, keep $300.00 for myself. Then, I was to secretly purchase two money orders from two different Wal-Marts and send them to a person in Humble, Texas, and to another person in the country of Larnaca Cyprus. ($1250.00 in EUROS). I was to email my experiences and answer some general questions to [email protected] made me suspicious and I looked up SCAMS on ScamPulse.com website and saw that this has been reported before. ASCENTRA CREDIT UNION IS AN ACCREDITED BUSINESS according to ScamPulse.com website.
