Called for my washing machine.

Was told $80.

Someone showed up and I was charged $275 plus tax

I knew what was wrong, but her knew better.

He admitted what the real problem was.

Then wanted to charge me $371 for the part.

I found the part on so many repair sites for less than $40 (a two pack)

I barely pay the $275.

At least the part is cheap and youtube is free....

Original call to company said it would be $80.00 for a service technician to come look at the washer , once inside they tell you it’s $280.00 plus tax for labour to diagnose the problem . Then they tell you it’s some part you actually don’t need and it’s $500.00 . I can buy a new washer for $625.00 . They arrive in a car and are wearing running shoes . I don’t believe they are actually licensed appliance technicians and that this whole company is a big scam . Many others have complained about this company . It’s time to shut them down

I called this company on Friday to repair my washing machine. They told me that a mechanic was available Sunday 2/20/2022 between 10am and 1 pm. The mechanic arrived around 11 am, we showed him to our laundry room. He performed a diagnostic test and determined in less than a few minutes that the internal drum required alignment as the drum would not spin. Which is what he was told upon arrival. He stated a price of $275.00 + HST. We approved him to proceed. Within a few more minutes he advised that the 1 of the 3 arms that hold the drum in place had rubbed against the machine and broken. The drum should be replaced at a cost of $1068.48 + labour for 2 mechanics. He stated the machine would still work, he aligned everything, and advised to only load the machine at 50% to 70% capacity. We should get a few more months out of the machine. We paid him $310.00 for his time. Immediately, I put the 2 towels that he used to clean up the repair mess in the machine. The washing machine would not run, showed out of alignment. I called the company and they said, you need a new part can't help you. WHAT A SCAM! We had to purchase a new machine later that day for $1045.00, and we lost $310.75.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY Appliance Repair Team 69 Connie Cres, Concord ON L4K 1L3. Here is our story: We were extending our warranty on our fridge and range and needed a Co. certified with Kitchen aid to come in and inspect them and provide us in writing that the appliances are in good working condition. When we googled Kitchen aid certified appliance this Co. Appliance Repair Team comes up with the Kitchen aid logo across the top of their page. Our mistake that we did not fully read the reviews for this Company. We called them and first thing we asked if their technicians are certified with kitchen aid, we were told yes. So we booked the appointment. We then called back to confirm the appointment and at that time asked them we needed a report from their certified kitchen aid technician not just a bill of sale. We were then told from Mercedes that they service Kitchen aid appliances however they are not directly affiliated with them and could not provide the report. We were told if we cancelled the appointment we would be charged and if we did not pay the bill would go to collections. This Company led us to believe they could provide the service we required. When we asked if they were certified kitchen aid reps we were told yes. Only when we told them we needed a report were we told they their technicians are only trained to repair these appliances not certified by Kitchen aid. This is misleading information, not only when we spoke with them over the phone but also on their website. We would have never have booked the appointment if we were told their technicians are not certified by Kitchen Aid to do the inspection. This Company Appliance Repair Team 69 Connie Cres, Concord ON L4K 1L3 are scammers and because we cancelled the appointment they are trying to charge us the fee and if we do not pay will send it to Collections. Interestingly enough if you google kitchen aid certified repair or any another manufacturer name for certified repair this Company comes up with that logo on their page.

- Attempted to engage this business to repair my dishwasher.

- Was told over the phone that the service call would be $80 plus tax to diagnose the problem and would be waived or included as a part of the fee if I proceeded with the repair. This seemed typical.

- The "Technician" arrived at my home and spent about 2 or 3 minutes looking inside the dishwasher door, turning the dials etc. -- did not open or remove any panels to examine internal components.

- Was then told the issue was likely the pump and he'd take a few minutes to diagnose if this and the labour would be $290 to repair it plus parts.

- I inquired if the labour was specifically for fixing the dishwasher and how he knew it was $290 before diagnosis.

- He stated this was a flat fee they charged regardless of how much labour it took to fix the dishwasher, and assured me the dishwasher would be fixed once he was done.

- The technician looked in the back panel of the dishwasher for about another 3 or 4 minutes and informed me it was in fact the pump that was broken and the part would be $350. I had already sourced possible part fixes from GE and knew this to be an outrageous inflation of the price.

- I asked him how he knew the pump was broken when it seemed to be working when I had tested it earlier and he turned on the dishwasher to show me "no water" was pumping. It was at this point I pointed out to him that he had turned off the tap, so obviously, no water would pump. I turned on the tap and, shockingly, water began to pump!

- At this point, I wanted him out of my home as quickly as possible so informed him I would pay him for his service fee to drive out here but would "consider" what to do about the rest of the repairs.

- He became visibly upset but declined to argue. He then passed me the Interac machine to pay for the service call but had already pressed the "accept" on the amount so it only showed the "insert card" screen. I hit the back button to see the amount and he had entered 300+ ($290 plus tax). I told him this was unacceptable and he could have the $80 I had agreed to for the service call and sent him on his way.

- Later in the day a "manager" called me to threaten to send the remaining amount to collections if I did not pay. I told them I was reporting this to Toronto PD anti-fraud, the BBB, etc. The repair company has since called twice more to threaten a collection agency.

- They now maintain that the $80 fee is for "the gas, insurance, and travel time" to my home and NOT diagnosis.

- Now, after looking online, my question is HOW is this operation still in business? This is a scam they clearly have attempted numerous times with no apparent repercussions beyond bad reviews.

I called The A team Appliance Repair team to enquire about repairing the inner part of my big boiler on my electric stove. I explained on the phone what was wrong with the stove but was told that a technician will have to come out to do a diagnostic on the stove. There was a $80 + tax fee that will be refunded if I chose to go ahead with the Repair. The technician came, turned the knob on and said the stove top is not working. I already told him and the company that the stove was not working. Apparently, that's how he diagnosis the problem. Didn't even open to see what the problem was. He gave me an estimate of $662.58 to do the repairs. I bought this stove a little over 3years now for $798. I told him that it doesn't make sense that the Repair bill will be that high. I refused to continue business at this time but had to pay the $90.40 for him to come to my home and turn the know on. I was suspicious of this high amount to Repair a burner and called the company the same day to enquire. The representative there said she had no info to reply to my complaint. She said the next day would be better to call back. I called back the day after the technician came to enquire about the extremely high quote for the replacement of the burner and the call was picked up by someone who identified as Harpreet. She basically told me that whatever the quote is that's what it is. She did not want anything to do with it really. I asked to speak to her supervisor and conveniently enough she said she was the supervisor. I believe that they name themselves " The A team" so that the pop up in the search engines when someone is looking for Appliance repair. It's an easy catch to the eye. I would usually visit the ScamPulse.com website before contracting a company but didn't do it this time. If I did I would have seen the report from the ScamPulse.com and steared clear of them.

There are fraud and charged you for nothing.

Stay away from them .SCAM SCAM

I had my washer stopped working and called this company for a repair service. They said they will come and take a look at the appliance and then repair it. I called few other companies at the same time and no one was available except this company. Based on the review, I decided to go ahead with their services thinking that they are a legitimate business not con artists. When the so called technician came home, he said that he will open the washer and then advise on the next steps. Within 5 minutes, he called me back and said there was an alignment issue with the rotator and he will go ahead and fix this one. Before he proceed with the repair, he wanted me to make a payment as this is their company policy. I honestly did not suspect that this guy was a con artist and decided to pay him on the spot using my debit. After the payment was made, he said that he will repair the washer and will call me once it is done. After few minutes, he called me and said that the repair was done and please do not use the machine for another 30 minutes as he has lubricated the machine. Also he mentioned that everything should be working without any issues and he recommended that I also change the drum if I want to continue using this washer for another 5 years without any trouble. I rejected his recommendation and told him that I will have to think about if I want to go ahead of replacing the drum or getting another new washer. After he left, I decided to try the washer and the washer was not working. I called the company and explained the situation. The person who answered the call said that there was a recommendation in my profile to change the drum. I told her that the drum replacement was a recommendation not a must. She was adamant that I need to change the drum in order for the washer to work and there is nothing she can do. After I got off the call with her, I went and did some search about this company in Google and found that there were many other victims like me. Had I known this in advance, I would have been very careful. I have heard about these con artists in the past and I could not believe that I was robbed at my home in the day light by these so called A Team Appliance Repair service. I would like to report this fraud issue so that someone can investigate this and bring these people into justice and keep the public safe.

We saw the website for the appliance repair service while looking for someone to repair our dishwasher. They charged us $500 for the service and the part and told us to wait for a couple of hours for it to work but it did not. They have a 30 days service warranty but when we called to tell them that the dishwasher that they had supposedly fixed does not they declined to send someone in to check it. Furthermore they suggested that we purchase another part and pay for another service visit. We were naive it reading only the reviews on their website while choosing their service.

There are many other people who have been scammed by this company and the reviews on google are similar.

This company appears as one of the first in the google search results and can easily fool people who visit their website.

My request to ScamPulse.com is to stop this company from scamming other innocent people

Our LG refrigerator was slowly shutting down during recent heat wave. Went on line to find LG repair service. A Team Appliance Repair came up . We thought a quick repair that would hold us for a number of months before looking for a new fridge (because of COVID). A young fellow named Nav very personable a technician spent the time analyzing - our compressor was the problem and needs to be replaced. We discussed and decided to go ahead. Nav said it could be replaced in 48hrs and a 1 year warranty for the part. I used a credit card for a partial payment (the part $1400 +tax). Two days later Alex came with the replacement I watched him install the part and paid the balance by credit card. He drove a service truck advertising repair name Thermal ? . Of course he didn't fix it and it was only a 30 day warranty- called the company to report - spoke to Alona, Emma, Afta and Lisa over a number of days and was told the "warranty dept" will call to arrange for someone to come out. A week gone by nothing. Unfortunately I was not aware of the cbc report. I guess we panicked and made decisions too quickly (especially because of COVID) and will have to absorb the cost. A lesson learned the hard way and now unfortunately a mistrust of repair services. They did inform us of an $80. charge to come out (not unusual) and then a $200.00 labour charge waived should you go ahead with repairs.

We called them to repair a new stove. They charged us 293 and did not repair anything and then told us we need a new motherboard costing 893.42. I did not accept that and called GE directly. They came and went with in 3 minutes stating it was just a blockage on the fan. He cleared the block with no charge. Thus company pray on people's ignorance about repairs. Terrible.

I contacted The A Team Appliance Repair Company to repair a clothes dryer. I found the ad for the contact with Google. It was dressed to look like a local company. The repair was to be affected in BradfordWest Gwillimbury. When the repair man arrived he told me he was based in Brampton and that he did service calls over large parts of the GTA. The heating element needed to be replaced. I had previously determined that the heating element could be purchased wholesale for about $80 by in internet search and by an estimate given to me by my handyman (who was not willing to go to Bradford for the repair). The A Team Appliance Repair gave me an estimate for the part Of $699.58 plus tax! I paid the $80 plus tax service call and terminated his services. I have attached a copy of his bill which includes the cost of the replacement heating element.

I had called them to fix my washing machine. They initially said they'd charge $80 and after they came in they increased the cost of labor to $295. They then said a part is faulty and said it'd cost $392.86 for a door lock . However I found out from the manufacturer that it costs only $39. They are a rip off.

Their website advertises that the service fee to diagnose the issue is $80. However, upon determining that our dishwasher needed the drain pump replaced, he proceeded to tell us we owed $280. When asked why it was more than $80, he said because they "attempted to repair"... Which is false. The repairman determined it needed a new drain pump. He did not do any "work" on our dishwasher. After reading online reviews, I have since learned that this company does this regularly to all customers. It is a bait and switch company with false advertising on their website.

I had a repairman come out to repair my dryer as it was overheating and would stop after 10 minutes repeatedly. Before he even looked at my machine he charged me $330.00 including HST for his labor cost. I thought it was very odd that he demanded payment before doing the work and he said that he gets a lot of complaints from other customers but this was company policy. He fixed the switch and fuse on my dryer and examined the motor. He said he adjusted the heat sensor so that it would no longer over heat and my machine was back in good working condition. He decided to give me a quote for a new motor so when I needed a new one I would know what I was looking at in terms of cost. He said that motors generally last 10 years, but because of my machine overheating, I was probably looking at 7 or 8 years. My machine is 5 years old, so I told him if I can get 2 to 3 more years out of it, I would just replace the machine. Off he went and I continued on with my laundry. I got through one full cycle of the dryer and it stopped working again during the 2nd load. I emailed the company on Sunday - no response. I called Monday during the day and was told by Customer Service that because the repairman quoted me for a new motor they couldn't do anything for me as that's my problem. I tried to tell them repeatedly that he quoted me a new motor so i would know what I was looking at in a few years. I called again Monday evening and asked for the repairman to give me a call. She told me she would send him a text and to be patient as the repairmen were out on service calls but he should call me back between 8-9 that evening. Tuesday went by and nothing. I called again Wednesday evening and again asked for the repairman to give me a call. I called Thursday and asked to speak with a Manager. I was told that I was speaking with the Supervisor and there was no one there higher then her, (that was after she told me all the Manager's were in a meeting). Again I was told that there was nothing I could do because the repairman quoted a motor. It's now apparent to me that this company is used to scamming people. I can't believe that in the middle of a pandemic when most people are struggling to survive there are companies out there willfully ripping people off. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Please consider this letter before you even call to this company.

My experience;

We made an appointment with this company, the person on the phone said that we have to pay $ 80 for a FULL diagnosis, or they can discount it if we sign a contract, we agreed on this and they gave us a time frame; the next day from 10 AM to 1 PM to find out what is the problem with our Bosch 500 series dryer. The next day we waited around 12:30 and called them again to find out why no one had appeared, receptionist told us that they made a time correction; from 2 PM to 5 PM (nobody warned us about any changes).

The repair man (he is just over twenty) appeared at about 2 pm, his diagnosis was; turn the dryer ON and after a couple of minutes turned back off, after which he noted that the heating element of the dryer is faulty and it needs to be replaced. In fact, I've known this before, even I've called them, but the difference now is, I have to pay $80 for it a few minutes of "diagnosis" or accept their terms and pay full price.

Discount 80, Labor costs 280, parts 486.24, and the total cost CAN 775.45 including tax.

They refused to make any adjustments to the price after we discovered that the spare part for this device costs only 112.87 US dollars, and we decided to terminate the contract, they stated that they will charge us labor cost (280) in accordance with the policy, even they did not do any labor.
