I stupidly called the number and the man on the phone told me there were pending charges for a $1000 Iphone and for the $159.99. I told him I didn't make the charges and that I didn't even have an Iphone account. He said he would cancel the charges but I needed to download the "Any Desk" app. I downloaded the app but then quickly uninstalled it before agreeing to any terms b/c I was simultaneously googling what the app did and realized it was a scam. The customer service rep quickly became very agitated and started cussing at me. Telling me he was going to charge a bunch of charges to my bank account. I immediately disconnected the call and changed all my passwords. My bank account has not received any fraudulent charges yet. It sounded as if there was a full room of people on the phone giving IT advice to customers. It sounded so legit until the representative started getting aggressive with me. The Any Desk app if downloaded and terms are agreed to will turn over control of your phone to someone else. IT departments use it but I now know that scam artists will use it to take control of your phone, passwords, bank accounts, etc.
