Arrangements were very quickly made with instructions that I would be contacted by the delivery service for instructions for payment and delivery. An email arrived from "Animals Petsshippingworldwide ([email protected]. I also recieved a call from a gentleman calling himself Mr. Ryan Author, General Manager of Customer Service at (682) 233-2920 (Texas Number). Mr. Author was very insistent that I immediately leave work (45 minute commute) and get to a CVS Store that is near my residence and get a "Money Gram" that was to be made out to a Jacob Hill (Director) of Los Angeles, CA USA 90008. MR Author was adamant about telling the cashier at "Money Gram" that Jacob Hill was a family member or a friend (he said that it would save me money that way).
At that point, I felt that this had to be a scam of some sort. I went on line to http://pet-express.com and looked up "Beware of Pet Travel Scams" where it mentioned the use of Western Union or Money Gram as a payment method.....stating that payments are often untraceable and non-refundable. My next step was to contact the BBB.
