I was contacted by text from a company looking for non-union talent for a commercial. I assumed they got my phone number from LA Casting, where my number is listed. So I emailed them and went into a conversation with someone calling themselves Alonso Suarez who wanted to cast me in the commercial. They asked for my address and clothing sizes and had me sign a talent release form. They sent me a check in the mail for $4,850.30. They told me to deposit the money in my account, keep $500, and use the rest to pay for the commercial wardrobe they would send me. Probably hoping that the check would bounce and they would gain my bank info. When I received the check, the USPS tracking number (9470 1036 9930 0030 999102) came from Austin TX which I found odd so I called the office building in San Diego where the company's address is listed on the website and they told me the company didn't exist. The name and address on the parcel I received in the mail are "Beau Anderson, 5412 S Stonegate Ave Springfield, MO 65810".
