The scammer named himself as Amit and texted after seeing the advertisement for sale of my used car in sulekha.com. He would inquire about the condition of the car to make us believe that he is a serious genuine buyer. Then he said that he is moving to my area in a week and the car is readily available for him and his wife to drop the kids to school and for work. He readily accepted our high quote and says that he will send the certified check through USPS. A friend of mine who also posted an advertisement in sulekha for selling his car got texted from the same number. A google search said that the deposited is solely liable for a fraudulent check. Posted this for public awareness.
