Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was then contacted via text by Mark Grey. He said he was the travel Nanny for the dog. He then stated and sent an official email from the transport company stating they need $1500 for the airport temperature controlled pet crate. the email stated that once the puppy arrived at the airport my money would be refunded.
He also stated that I had to send him and additional $2000.00 for pet insurance. of which I received and official email from the transport company stating the fee will also be refunded.
After receiving the money for the crate. Paid via Zelle. he texted me and stated that he and the dog was at the Charlette airport and the puppy was no looking good, and would not be able to go to the Orlando airport unless it had a few shots for the cost of $2000.00 and that would be 98% refundable at the time of pick-up at the airport. I then sent him the $2000.00 using gift cards because he said the credit card system was down. I was hesitant. he stated I would get all of my money back when I picked up the puppy.
He was pretending to be very concerned about the puppy. I said I wanted to back out of it. He said you came this far, and if I don't want the dog, it would be sent to the shelter and I would be charged with animal cruelty and abandonment. I asked for pics of the puppy to make sure the pup was actually there. He sent pics of the dog. So I went and bought gift cards to pay for the Vet.
I text him and stated we are all good to go. Please send me the flight information and time so I can be at the airport to pick up the pup. Monday morning he said we have a big problem, that the dog cant fly unless it was a Therapy dog and was requesting an additional $3500.00. that would also be refunded. at this point I stated that I would go to the airport, a 7 hr drive and pick up the puppy. I also asked the owner to pay for this fee. she stated that she could on give $1500 and that I would have to pay the other $2000.00. I said No. I don't have anymore money to pay for this. That I would drive to pick the puppy up.
I then asked Mark for a selfie of him at the airport so I knew who I was meeting to pick up the puppy and get my $5500 refund.
when he didn't reply, I told him I didn't want the dog to ship it back to it's owner. Tasha Ballard.
She also pretended to be concerned and asked if I could get the money in a few days or get it from a family member. I told her I wasn't able to do that. She said the puppy could stay at the airport until I could come up with the $2000.00. How could someone who has a dog let it stay at the airport for a few days. I told her to have the shipping company return the dog and all of my money. After that Mark and Tasha did not return any of my text messages. I did not get refunded. All emails looked very convincing from the transport company and the site also has a tracking page to track your puppy. Shame on me for falling for this. I hope you find them and feed them bad dog food for the rest of their lives. these are the email address that were used.
