I received a phone call from a woman named Sandy claiming to be from ," American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009." which is on the GRANTS.GOV web page. They make it look totally legit. by using our government pages.

She said I had to go to a store like Walmart, 7-11, or Walgreen's and purchase an Electronic voucher card. She said to call her back when I got to the store, from the parking lot and she'd guide me with the details of the purchase. To make sure I had my I.D. or D.L. to complete my purchase. Then I'd have to go to a Western Union, give them the card I purchased , and they would give me the $14,000 that I was entitled to.

I did call her back @ the number she provided me with to ask more questions, and she did answer. I only got her first name.( Sandy) After I went home she called me again to ask if I'd gone yet. She said registration was closing for the day, and she wouldn't be able to get my money approved for today, unless I hurried w' the info she required. I thought it was odd, because usually you have to apply for a grant. And when has anyone ever been in a hurry to give you money? So I looked this up online, and found other people reporting almost the exact same activity as a scam. So I didn't go forward with anything. I'm glad I investigated before hand.

I'm 63 years old. I received a call on 10.2.17 from 202-455-6410, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Her name was Marla Wilson. She said they would deposit $9,000 into my banking account. She asked for the routing number for my checking account. She said she needed $200 to put my name in the Federal Reserve Bank. She told me to purchase a card at my nearest store to avoid any commercial taxes. I said I'm going to call the ScamPulse.com, and she said you go right ahead ma'am, and call us back tomorrow. The man that came on first was a foreigner. I kept asking him what did you say. The woman spoke English, but it wasn't right. She said Grant Treasury Department, ext. 107. She asked my age right away.

They are calling me to tell me that I won 9,200. Now they want $200 on a Steam card.

I received 4 phone calls today from 202-750-0000. Since there were several calls, I finally answered. I was told I received a grant from the government through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. I was given a Grant ID#PC849, then given the number 206-596-0639 to call. I did since they were not asking for any of my information AND they already had my address, phone number, and email address. When asked how I wanted to receive my money, they told me I'd have to go to a Western Union, pay $200.00 for a Registration card and that would be refunded with my grant. The name Steve Valentine was given with an extension of 8131 at number 206-596-0639.

Pardon my grammar...... I received a call regarding a grant approximately at 1000 hours I heard a long speech about how I was selected.. Random. Also that I should not use this money for any illegal activity's including gambling. I assured the person (sounded like an Indian man, the ones with the dot not the feathers.) I am not into that kind of thing or pastime. He gave me a conformation number and transferred my call to Washington D.C. Same thing happened verify this and information First Name Last name and background check... with out a SSN#? (red flag) Then asked for a security deposit that I would get right back. VIA Western Union. (red flag) I confronted him as it became knowledge it was a scam why would I give a deposit for a grant. Fast talk happened and he told me of all these Taxes that would happen and so on.. I asked him if this is illegal he said of course no why would I say that this is ARRA and this is for the economy blah blah blah.. Basically I feel like a fool because two red flags and I still went through with it... got on the phone with the self proclaimed New York federal reserve bank teller that was also a man from India and he tried to persuade me that everything is true and official and this is the normal for getting a grant.. I argue and he asks me for more money and I blow up and said this is a SCAM there no way I should of given you a security deposit and give you additional money he started talking about all these taxes I would get if I didn't get a security deposit. I called him out again as a SCAM artist and then he hanged up the phone all # don't work anymore and the New York # just continue to ring and says this # can not be reached at this moment .... IT HAPPEND TO ME.

Frank Raney of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act with a grant confirmation ID number of JK7420 informing me that the state government has awarded me this grant of $9,200. He knew my zip code. He asked me for my middle name and I gave it to him along with my e-mail address. He said there were three options on how I could receive the money: 1) direct deposit 2) credit card or debit card and 3) money order. He asked me how far Walmart was from me and I told him I lived 15 minutes out of magnolia in between McNeil and Waldo. He said in order to get the money I had to have a grant reference number and in order to receive that I had to go to Walgreens and call him when I got there. I had to have my ID, cash of $250, and he was going to instruct me as to which iTunes card to buy and load the money on. At the end of our call he told me he woul email me this information. It just seemed strange to me and when I googled this company it came up as a scam so I am reporting and seeing what needs to be done. He also asked me my age and marital status. I gave him that information as well.
