The victim received a phone call telling her that she had won $975,000 from the American Gaming Corporation. The caller said they were with the Consumer Affairs Dept. The first caller told her to call Tom Price at 202-470-3915 to get instructions on how to claim her prize. She was instructed to go to the US Post Office and wire $500 to them to pay Illinois state taxes so they could deliver the prize. He then instructed her to call Jessica Wilson at 202-407-7203 to confirm they had received the wire transfer.
