We saw a boat on Facebook Marketplace that was exactly what we were looking for at a good price. We contacted the seller through Facebook Messenger and she responded after a few days. Her story was that she was an airline stewardess, recently divorced, and re-located to her parents home in Omaha, Nebraska; therefore we were unable to talk to her personally but was available through her g-mail [email protected]. We had good communication with her about how to purchase the boat through a third party shipping company because the boat was in Wisconsin and she was in Nebraska. She said we would be hearing from the shipping company with the instructions on how to send a wire transfer from our bank. After we would send the money, the shipping company would ship the boat to us for inspection within 3-5 days. If for any reason we did not want to go through with the transaction, we could notify the shipping company and they would pick up the boat and refund our money. I became suspicious when we called to ask some questions of the escrow department of the shipping company. First of all, the number came up in Connecticut. The man had an extremely heavy accent. I called the ScamPulse.com and they could not verify the Website of the shipping company. Please do not fall for this scam as we almost did.
