Type of a scam Phishing

Received offer and contract by mail from American Family Land CO. to purchase some vacant property our family owns. The offer looked more than reasonable and wanted to proceed, however, we asked American Family Land CO. to use a state approved, Real Estate Commission-approved contract, instead of the one they provided by mail which had no seller protection. They then started to stall the process, and eventually, came back and said that they cannot not even make an offer on the land, as it would be well below the price they initially offered. It was clear that the intent, was to get the seller to sign the contract at the much higher price and then alter the contract once signed, to a much lower price, with only the buyer having the option to cancel outright. The seller would have no protection and no recourse to cancel the sell.
