i checked the mail late febuary 2020; enclosed was a $2390.73 check and instructions for a mystery shopper assignment. i have put in resumes for different jobs and saw an ad for mystery shopper, so when i saw it i thought that was part of it. The perp went under the name Bryant Reyes, posing as a survey consultant for American Express. the instructions were in black and white, not on an official American Express document; i was to buy $2000 worth of american Express gift cards($500 each), the rest of the funds were for commission and groceries. the check was from Regions Bank in Florida, made out Febuary 24,2020; it had my name on it, the signature that i could make out has the name "Robert Sommer", the other name i couldn't read. the stores it listed on the instructions were CVS, Walgreens, Wal Mart, Rite Aid, Dollar General, 7/11, and family Dollar. my wife deposited the check electronically because we couldn't cash the check right away per the instructions. we sent bryant the reports and pictures of the front and back of the 500 dollar gift cards, also there was instructions to make a cashiers check in the amount of $26.93 to a " Dianne Larson". contact was made by Email and phone call and texts. The Thieves have bank info of both my wife and i.
