American Dream Home Improvement agent showed up at my door soliciting home improvement for hail damage in my area. He looked at my property and claimed there was hail damage and that he could get my house resided and roof replaced by my insurance company. He claimed he could get my deductible paid for and that the work would be done by the amount my insurance company would pay for. I called my insurance company and put in a claim. They made an appointment for an adjuster to come to my house to verify the damage and he verified there was damage to replace my garage and house roof and replace my siding. My insurance sent me an insurance claim for over $11,000 dollars for to complete the work. The day the workers came to my house I wrote a check for $7,100 to the agent. They completed my roof and only did a portion of the siding. I came home from work and noticed a portion of the front siding of my house was not done and the left and right elevation was not complete. I ask the laborers why they are not completing the remainder of the siding and they told me an agent from American Dream Homes directed them not to do those areas of my home. The laborers stated they had enough siding to complete the remainder of my home. I told the laborers to leave the rest of my siding until I figure out what was going on and they took it. I had to purchase more siding and hire someone else to finish the job. I called the company several times for weeks before I spoke to anyone and the secretary had it listed in there system that the work was complete. They sent a notice of completion to my insurance company for over $21,000 dollars, double the mount my insurance was going to pay for. The contract does not state how much they would do it for. It states To Be Determined (TBD). This is how they try to get more from the homeowner besides what your insurance company will pay for. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! After reading reviews after I committed to let them do it, the reviews were very bad by many unhappy homeowners. Am. Dream Home had a star rating of 2.2 out of 5. Please warn all your friends and family not to let this company on there property.
