My 13 year old son received a letter saying he owed $151 on a Paypal credit card. He is not old enough to even open a credit card. When I called and said I think this is fraud, they said I can disregard the letter and hung up. This is a scam.

I received a letter in the mail that appears to be from a seemingly legitimate 'debt collector' agency. In the letter it claims I made a purchase of $160.73 on 01/29/25 via PayPal when I haven't used that account in over two years. A similar address to the one used on the letter was linked to some fraudulent payments made using my PayPal a while back. One of these payments was for what appeared to be an NBA game in California ( I live in Alabama). I am going to follow up with PayPal again to make sure my account is completely closed, but this is ridiculous at this point.

I got a letter saying I owe Paypal Inc. $1876 which is impossible. They also made up a fake account number. I have never owed PayPal money. The first time I've used paypal in some time (last week) I sent a small amount of money (ony about $15.00) to a popular online Chinese company called Temu. That company may have sold my address to this scammer.

I received a debt collection letter from American Coradius International. Saying that I owe Paypal money. I havent had a paypal account in 7 months. The letter has a refernce number and account number. Creditor says its PayPal, Inc. I was a victim of identity theft and someone is trying to scam me for money. I havent used my paypal and its been closed for months.

Scammer said they are attempting to collect a debt of $369.99 they say I owe to PayPal since 08/27/2024 on a closed account. Although I DID close my actual PayPal account in mid-May 2024, the account referenced in the scam letter does refer to the same account I closed. I did not, and do not owe Paypal any money. The scammer stated that I must write to them by November 21, 2024 and then collection of any amount in dispute will end until they send me information that shows I owe the debt. They also sent a reference number of: NUMBER NOTE: I did not contact the scammer in any way.

They represent a collection agency. They claim PayPal,inc is the party that is trying to collect money. There is no evidence of using PayPal recently.

I received a letter to my home address that has a fictious name I use for registrations. This letter indicates I have debts due to Paypal and they (ACI) are an authorized collector for PayPal. They provide a phone number to call and a website to post the payment to but no email address to contact them.

So far: collection letter saying to pay $51.46: supposed debt of 11.46 from 3/5/24 with additional debit/fee of 40 dollars due; claiming I have a paypal account 48XXXXX Dispute by 5/30/24 to stop collection until they show details of debt owed.

NOTE: I could not move fwd w/ the form without adding a scammer email. There wasn’t one so I used “[email protected]” so I could complete the form.

They sent a letter in the mail saying I owe Paypal a debt of $1,143.93 and ask to either call or write to dispute it or just pay the money. They say you can even request the information of the original creditor.

I received a letter via USPS from American Coradius International stating they were collecting a debt for PayPal in the amount of $109.57. The letter stated I could pay the debt online or call them. It also stated I could dispute the collection. The PayPal account number listed on the letter is not mine and I have never had a PayPal transaction for the stated amount.

they send you a letter in the mail with your information on it specifically your name and say that you owe a bill from PayPal however, there's no legitimate website on there on the letter that you can use to contact them. The only thing they give you is an address and a phone number and they asked that you mail them a check or call that number, the website it gives you is not legitimate website

This company is a debt collector and the letter said I owed PayPal $250. Letter was sent to my maiden name and I changed my name in 2017 or 2018 after getting married. I did check my PayPal account online. I have not used this account and I owe no money to PayPal. The letter gives me the option to dispute the charge, but I don't want to contact this debt collector without reporting this incident to BBB.

I received a letter from this company stating they're a debt collector for PayPal and owe them $176.13 but wouldn't say what the charges are for. They also got my name wrong so it's a straight scam and I'm not paying them a dime.

I received a letter from a debt collector in the mail using my maiden name and telling me that I owed PayPal $60.26. I had no reason to think I owed PayPal any money and contacted them directly. They confirmed that the account number on the invoice did not exist, and that my account was not delinquent. I forwarded the piece of mail to PayPal‘s phishing department to report as fraudulent.

I RECEIVED A LETTER IN MAIL STATING THEY WERE COLLECTING A DEBT THAT I OWED PAYPAL. THIS WAS THE FIRST NOTICE I EVER RECEIVED SO I NEVER EVEN GOT THE CHANCE TO PAY IT, IF IT WAS TRULY MINE. HOWEVER MY PAPYPAL ACCOUNT IS SET UP TO WHERE I WOULD NEVER HAVE AN AMOUNT DUE TO THEM. I HAVE AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS ON MY PAYPAL CREDIT OR IF I DO NOT USE PAYPAL IT AUTOMATICALLY COMES OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT. I NEVER RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM PAYPAL OR A MESSAGE IN MY PAYPAL PORTAL THAT I OWE THIS AND I NEVER EVEN PURCHASED ANYTHING IN SEPTEMBER. WHEN I CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED IT TELLS ME THIS NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE, SO MUST BE A SCAM FOR SURE! I DID CONTACT PAYPAL AND TALKED WITH SEVERAL AGENTS AND THEY CANT FIND THE ACCOUNT NUMBER OR THAT I OWE ANYTHING AS WELL. I JUST WAS MAKING SURE IT WAS NOT REAL BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO REBUILD MY CREDIT FROM IDENTITY THEFT! I DID ATTACH THE ORIGINAL LETTER BELOW, BUT DELETED MY PERSONAL INFO SO YOU COULD LOOK AND INVESTIGATE IF YOU NEEDED TO. I AM SENDING A LETTER MYSELF TO TAKE ME OFF THE THIER SCAM LIST OR TO PROVE THAT I OWE ANYTHING. THANK YOU
