A person called me and left a message on my vm; when I called back the person said she was from American Care named: Carolina M. She had a very heavy accent and said that she received a referral for obstetrics from my doctor and stated the incorrect MD. She also said that my insurance provider authorized this referral. She asked me for my DOB to look up my info. I told her that that is not my doctor but only gave her my doctors name nothing more. When I ask what exactly was the referral for she would only say that is about my pregnancy and that a Representative would call me in couple days about the referral once they reach out to my MD. I asked her again to explain what exactly the referral is about and she said that it's just to get an update on how your pregnancy is going. I called my Insurance provider to tell them the situation; no referral was sent or rec'd from them and they said that they do not send my info without my initial consent. I informed my MDO and they said that they have not and will not send any info to any outside parties without my consent.
