Type of a scam Bank/Credit Card Company Imposter Scam
He claimed to be from Amazon and knew I had an Amazon account. He said he would cancel the iPad purchase and make sure it never happened again. First I had to download AnyDesk and then CoinSmart( to keep my money safe while they “investigated” the “scam”) I transferred $1,700 from my bank to CoinSmart. Then he said to wait awhile and then we would transfer the 1,700 back into my account. He never called back and my 1,700 was gone. Next day I called my Scotiabank and they are investigating this fraud. I should have called them in the first place. Now recently I received a text from Costco saying I have a refund of $138 and to call them. I deleted this text as I only went to Costco twice last year and would not be getting a refund.
