Received a suspicious looking email from an unknown address. Did not respond.

Also reported the scam to Amazon.

I received an automated phone call from a number that said unknown from Wisconsin and it said please wait to be connected to a specialist and then a man got on the phone who claimed his name was Kevin Edwards and he was Amazon support and that my account had been hacked and there were three orders one from Ohio one from Florida and one from Mexico about an Apple phone for $299 that was going to be delivered tomorrow and they wanted to stop it from being delivered and for me not to hang up the phone at all once he was on the phone once I asked him who I was he had no answer he asked what my email address was I gave him that and then I asked him to call me back with Amazon being on the phone caller ID and I hung up the phone this is a scam

Caller ID showed 254-843-8784. I was not home, they left a message on my answering machine that said they were with Amazon Support and I needed to call them about my account. The call back number left was 575-424-2571. I did not call it back, as I know that Amazon does not call you, and they used my home phone, which I never have used for ordering from Amazon.

I keep receiving phone calls from someone from saying they are from Amazon Support claiming there has been a suspicious purchase from my Amazon account. They gave me a link to view who has hacked into my account & the location. I never went the link, I just wrote it down. They always call using a number starting with the area code in ny state & its always from a different number. The person has an accent that's usually hard to understand. & when I tell them to remove my number, they always hang up on me.

We were told a charge of $279.99 from Amazon online was being made on our Visa card. If we made the charge, hang up; otherwise, call 903-290-1203 to deny the charge. We’ve had the call twice. The first time I called the number and a foreign male answered. He kept saying he couldn’t hear me and I realized by then it was a scam attempt and hung up without giving any information. Both times the charge amount is the same.

A scammer claiming to be an Amazon Support representative called to try to get my credit card information. I knew it was a scam because Amazon does not call customers.

Contacted through Freudian Amazon order charged to my alternate Amazon acct. Requesting credit cards times 2 in separate charges. When I questioned them they responded as the Amazon Support using an Amazon.com letterhead.

A guy called and claimed to be from Amazon Support and they had a package, and I needed to call them to verify my credit card number.

Did not answer first ring which was caller id as my own name. Message was that 149.99 had been charged from my Amazon account. I was instructed to call back if I had not made the charge. I called 833-767-0130 and was directed to open my computer so that we could find out who made the charge and to cancel the charge. When I was directed to enter a URI address starting with www.tangle????, I became suspicious and told them I thought it was a scam. Another person came on the phone and his response was that if I thought it was a scam, I would pay the amount, and I could hang up, which I did. No personal information or account numbers were exchanged. I also reported this to US Bank, Buhl Branch.

Email titled: An error occured: Your account required to Update! January 03,2020- Case ID: PS8125S

I quickly read the email at first and it took me to amazon log in. It actually appeared as if I was signing into my amazon account. Once I thought I was signed in, it wanted me to fill out all of my personal info, address, phone #, email and then my social security #?!?!? I immediately stopped dead in my tracks, deleted everything I had filled in and went back to the attachment that was sent. I then re-read the "Summary Account" and noticed many grammar errors...including the spelling error in the subject box. I quickly realized where they "get you" at the bottom by telling you: "If you are unable to complete the verification process within 24hours, all pending orders will be cancelled. You will not be able to access your account until this process has been completed. We ask that you not open new account as any new order you place may be delayed." I haven't even placed an order since before Christmas.

After seeing this, I decided to log into my Amazon Account by going to the official website. I looked at my profile, nothing looked off and I did not see any alerts to act now or my account would be locked.

Hopefully this helps others. They have gotten really good!

A man by the name of John calls repeatedly from the phone numbers listed and states that they need you to go purchase pre-paid gift cards to pay for the merchandise. He states he is from Amazon Support
