I received a message on my home answering machine. This is Amazon Support. Someone placed an order for an Apple laptop. Over $300. Someone ordered something from my account. If you did not place an order please call 208-507-5023. I called the phone number. They identified themselves as Amazon Support. At first I asked is this Amazon. He said it is Amazon Support. I asked which credit card did they use to place order. He did not answer. I kept asking. He wanted to credit the money back to my account. They asked which bank I do business with. I gave the name of my bank. He said in order to prevent this from happening again download this app. I downloaded an App on my desktop. They told me what to download. I went to Google Chrome. I forgot what I downloaded. I became suspicious. I hung up the phone and deleted the App. The guy on the phone was Harry Stone. He gave a badge number AMZN-892837046. Sounded so official. This morning $35000 somehow transferred from my money market savings to my checking account. This was the bank name I gave out. I check my account online every morning. I don't know how this happened. I did not lose any money. I called my bank right away. I asked who made this transfer. They said it came from my computer. My bank is taking are of it. I did not lose any money. I gave my bank their phone number. My bank is looking into this.
