Type of a scam Credit Cards
I had ordered a TV from Amazon. Shortly thereafter I received an email from this site saying it could not be delivered until I paid customs fees that were owed (the TV was made in China). I was stupid enough to fall for that, and I used by VISA credit card to make the payment on 7/20/2022. I was promised an email receipt of my payment--which I never received. The original email that asked for the payment "magically" disappeared from my email inbox at that time--I have not seen it since. Then yesterday (7/23/2022) we received a phone call from our bank saying that someone had used our VISA card to make more purchases. I tried calling the scammer's listed phone number, but was put on hold forever. I have written an email inquiry, but have no reply. So the initial charge is partly my fault for being naive enough to be in so easily tricked. Somehow they were aware of my Amazon purchase, and they used that to trick me. As for using my credit card after that, that is just theft.
