The scammer claiming to be from Amazon fraud department stated that a transaction for a $1,400 iPhone was trying to be made and wanted confirmation that I did or did not purchase said item. Then went on to tell me that my account shows usage on multiple different devices from different states including Ohio and Texas. Then said my account had been compromised and my information had been used to open different bank accounts in several States sane my social security number had been stolen. Went on to tell me that she would transfer me to the social security department. The next gentleman on the phone gave some identification number and then asked me if my last name was spelled a certain way when I responded correct they hung up the phone

I received a phone call stating that there was a suspicious order placed on my account in the amount of $700+. She wanted to know if anyone else had access to my Amazon account or any device that I own. I told her no. She then asked me if I had any of my devices with me at that time. I told her I only had my phone. She then asked if my phone was an android or iPhone. I didn't answer her. Because I was very suspicious of the phone call, I then told her that I would have to call back later and asked for a phone number in which to reach them. At that point, she immediately ended the call. The phone number that showed up on my caller ID was from my local area code (715-470-0653).

A foreign man called and said he was from the Amazon Fraud Department and that someone was trying to use my account to purchase a computer for $3,200. He said he was from Seattle, Washington and continued to ask a lot of questions and managed to get into my laptop and said my computer needed to be encrypted. The next thing he said was that he wanted me to buy something from him over the phone with a credit card. When I told him that my card had been hacked into already and I was waiting for a new card, he asked for cash. I told him that I did not have cash. And then he said, "Well, how are you living without cash"! Then I became extremely suspicious. I hung up and tried to call back and the numbers have no company listings.
