Amazon Customer Service Name Spoofing Reports & Reviews (1)

- Dallas, GA, USA

Received an unsolicited SPAM EMAIL allegedly from Amazon Customer Service. The PHISHING email was sent from [email protected]. The PHISHING email addressed me as Dear Customer as opposed to my name and said that there was suspicious activity on my account. It gave Equador as the country of origin, an IP address and said that they used Opera web browser. I was told that my account had been locked and that I had 24 hours to correct the problem by changing my login in. There was a link for me to click on. I DID NOT follow the instructions in the email. Rather, I forwarded the email to [email protected]. Always check to see where all of your emails come from. If you have any questions about your Amazon, Netflix, Apple accounts, etc, use their app or go directly to their website by typing in their address and communicate directly with whatever business you want to. NEVER follow the instructions or click on links within suspicious emails.
