Payment needed to be in full prior to sending the kitten. I made the transaction through Chase Zelle. Once payment was made and receipt confirmed, I called Mr. Rojas and asked when the kitten would arrive. He informed me that the kitten had already been turned over to the shipping company and that they would call me. Mr. Rojas assured me that the kitten would be sent in a well ventilated, comfortable and safe cat crate. I received a call from Pacific Pet Shippers advising me that an email was sent for me to verify shipping information. I read through ad advised the zip code was incorrect, so I sent them an email with the corrected shipping address. A short time later I received a phone call, followed by an email (again from Pacific Pet Shippers) that I would need to pay (through Zelle) $1,200 for an electronic ventilated cat carrier.. advising that one the kitten is received, I would be reimbursed $1,150. I then began to suspect this was a scam. I advised the shipping company that me paying for an upgraded carrier was not the agreement between me and the seller.
I called my husband and gave him the phone number of the seller and the shipping company. He googled the phone numbers and found that this is an ongoing scam. I called the seller and advised him that our agreement included a safe, comfortable cat crate and that I wasn't paying anything more to the shipping company. He stated that others had paid to ensure the safe delivery of the kitten. I again reiterated that it wasn't our agreement and that I either receive my kitten, safely and in good health or he was to refund my $680 through Chase Zelle immediately or I would notify the authorities. I haven't heard back from the seller or the shipper.
