I wanted a garage door opener installed. I called Alpine garage door services. Took them 2 weeks to finally show up in an old beat up truck with no company name on the side. I was initially informed they my installation would be $900. When they left, they gave me an estimate of $1,800. I'll talk into the gentleman the first wanted cash up front. Then they wanted to check, and they made me give them my credit card information. I then called the phone number on the estimate and ask for the contractor number, and they didn't have one. I blame that one on myself. Be very aware of these garage door service people. Only go with a reputable company that is good BBB.com rating and has a contractor license.
