My elderly mother had a pop up on her lap top saying she needed security on her computer and to call 1-800-737-7162. She spoke with a James and he claimed to be with Microsoft and said for $399.99 they would install security and 24 hour customer support for 4 years. Then went on to say should any other security company phone to never give them access to protect her computer. But went on to say that if she did that their services would be void. She provided a electronic check and they phoned back demanding a credit card which she declined. The check then cleared but her full name and check number was not correct and it was over a weekend. The following Monday she went to the bank and called the company from there and in order to get the money back they stated they needed to get the software that they had installed on her computer. When she turned her computer on to let them take off whatever they needed her computer crashed and now will not work. When contacting the company for explanation they just hung up.
