Alltrust Movers Reports & Reviews (1)

- Boston, MA, USA

I signed a contract for a cross country move from CA to MA. I had a one bedroom apartment and after sharing a detailed list of my furniture and estimated number of boxes, I was quoted at around $4000 for the packing and loading of the truck, cross country travel and unloading of my items (unpacking not included). This was far lower than other quotes I received so I selected AllTrust Movers.

First offense - the move out date. It was explained that I would be given a move out date and a back up date in case anything happened to the truck, but was told I would be notified in advance if there was any reason why AllTrust would not make the original date. For the week leading up to my move out, I called the line every day and did not get a call back. I contacted the sales agent that was so responsive when he was trying to gain my business, and never heard back. Finally, the afternoon before I was to move out and had a one way ticket booked to leave CA - I heard back that the truck was not coming until two days from then. No apologies, no explanation, just this is what it is and they are not obligated to inform me more than 24 hours in advance. This was my first sign something was not right with this company.

Second offense - the payment increase. When the movers finally arrived, they arrived in a rented “West Elm” truck - no “AllTrust” logos anywhere. Once they surveyed my belongings I was told the new quote was over $7000 - which was over $3000 more than what I was quoted and had signed on my contract. I was being told I had to sign a new contract otherwise they would not load my furniture. I was completely stuck - my apartment lease was ending that day (I already had to beg my building to let me stay an extra night because the movers were a day late) and I had a one way flight from CA to Boston that night. They had me backed into a corner and they knew it.

Third offense - ZERO communication. After what happened with the move out, I called every day for two weeks to confirm they would be arriving on my requested delivery date (this was also the date in my contract). I even scheduled the following day off as well, assuming they would be a day late again. For weeks my calls were ignored or if I actually got a hold of someone, I was told they did not have an update. My requested delivery date came and went and when I called furious I was informed that they have 10-21 business days to deliver my items. And that this is from the “first available delivery date” not from the date they picked up my items -- which meant contractually, I was locked into waiting for 3 more weeks. Needless to say none of this was explained before I signed the contract - only that it would take up to 21 days to deliver from the pick up date, and that “my requested date was no problem because it was over 2 weeks from the pick up date.” I have come to learn that was an outright lie to get me to sign the contract.

Fourth offense - My emails have gone unanswered, my requests to talk to a manager were met with “there’s no one I can connect you to.” There are no emails or contact info listed anywhere on the site except for the one sales/customer service line. When I did call, it would be ignored and then I would get a text back saying they would get back to me.

Fifth offense - Finally a manager contacted me after I wrote a long email, and was downright rude and degrading to me. He told me to “stop blowing up their phone” as if I had no right to demand information on where my personal property was. I finally was told after FOUR weeks that my items were still sitting in a warehouse in CA. There had been zero communication when I asked where my items were and ZERO effort to meet my requested delivery date in my contract. When I told the manager this, he assured me my items were being loaded onto a truck that weekend and I’d have them within a week. The manager also hung up on me at one point because he didn’t like my push back - completely unprofessional. That deadline has come and gone and still nothing. I tried to call the manager multiple times since our conversation and he has not responded once.

Sixth offense - I am now being told that my items are in fact still in CA and will be transferred to Chicago, before making its way to MA. 21 business day window is up in 6 days, which means they are in breach of contract, and yet I still can get no estimated delivery date.

Seventh offense - I have repeatedly requested that they tell me where my personal property is and that I would like to have another moving company pick up the items and deliver them across the country. They are refusing to give me the information to make it happen.

Eighth offense - I was also told that I needed to make the final payment in cash, which I have since learned is a clear sign of a fraudulent company.

It is clear to me by the complete negligence, deceitfulness, underhanded contact, and complete disrespect for their customers that this company is a fraudulent, crooked, scam of a business.

They are currently still holding all my personal property hostage and will not tell me where it is - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help and shut them down.
