I received a phone call/voicemail from a Lubbock Texas phone number, by a man by the name of Stephen Tyler. (An alias I’m sure) He was calling in regards to a “complaint in his office being considered for legal action.” I was instructed to “contact the firm at 888-481-3649 with any questions or concerns regarding case number 633604. No contact may result in a decision perhaps made without your consent.” When I called the number, they began to verify my information. I refused to give person info on the chance of fraud, and asked them what the issue was. I was told it was a civil complaint and that they could not privy me more information without verify my personal info. I refused and told them to send the complaint to me via certified mail, since they already had my address, to which they said they could not, then threatened to have the authorities deliver it to me. I told them I’d be waiting, and was hung up on. I made a phone call back , and again, when I wouldn’t give them my info, I was spoken to rudely and hung up on a second time.

This interaction screams “SCAM” and people need to be aware, because they spoke with conviction and could easily have gotten private information from anyone unsuspecting.
