I received a call from a Louisiana area code. The person claimed that they were helping borrowers with student loan reduction under Biden’s new programs. When I called back, a man named Aaron answered and conned me out of my social security number, FAFSA info, and signed me up for a student loan consolidation program, which required a processing fee of $271.00 for 5 months. He claimed this fee was part of the enrollment process and dodged questions I had about it.

I called my loan servicer who confirmed that this was a scam. Beware!
