Was looking for breeders to purchase a dog. Found their website and saw a puppy that I wanted. I was in contact with them for a couple of weeks working out the details of payment and delivery. I was sent the "Contract" but when I went to send it back, the email address could not be found. I then looked into the issue and it turns out that this was indeed a scam.

Contacted this "company" in search of Dachshund puppies for my 6-year-old son. "Alicia" responded via email stating that the two puppies that I was interested in were still available and asked how soon I needed the puppies. My first mistake was when she did not directly answer my question about paying with a credit card. She proceeded to ask my full name, address, contact phone number and email address, and the name of the airport that I would like to pick the puppies up from. Supposedly, I was getting 2 puppies for $800 because they were a pair that could not be separated. The cost of the puppies as well as the "transportation" needed to get from Colorado to Louisiana would be $250, totaling my entire purchase to $1,050. I was unable to have the puppies "shipped" the same day because there would be no one available to pick up the puppies anyway so we agreed to have them shipped Wednesday, May 26th. I signed a bill of sale/sales contract as well as a certificate of ownership. Not having any experience in buying a dog from what I thought was a legitimate breeder, I did not notice any red flags. However, the first red flag that I ignored is that they only accept payments from Zelle or Apple Pay Cash, two of which do not have an option to dispute transactions between two private parties. So Wednesday arrives and I still had not received any flight information or if the puppies have even left Colorado. Wednesday night when the puppies still haven't arrived and even before then, I began noticing that my emails and text messages were being ignored. The personal phone number that I texted to pay Alicia via apple pay cash is no longer in service. I then receive an email stating that the crate is not appropriate for the puppies to stay overnight in, even though they were supposed to be delivered between 5-6 hours, and I needed to pay another $1000 fee to rent the thermal crate for the puppies and they would not be put on another flight until I rented the crate. I am so heartbroken as well as my 6-year-old, I can't believe that I actually fell for this.
