Man came to the door claiming that he could adjust the contract with current furnace provider to include a water softener system for only a few bucks more per month than already paying. He then had the people sign a contract that had nothing to do with a water softener but actually had to do with a whole home water filtration system, UV disinfectant systems as well as a reverse osmosis system for $100/month for 10 years with annual interest rate increases of which after 10 years you do not own unless you buy for hundreds of dollars (its just a rental agreement although they claim its rent to own it truly is not). The original company later stated that this man does not work for them in any way and did not change the contract and that it was in fact just ANOTHER contract for a different service by a different company. He lied about getting a rebate on the current furnace to help costs, I got the void cheque back from him but he said he didn't have the contract on him when i asked to see it the next day when they were scheduled to install this equipment (because he never provided a copy prior to me asking). I cancelled the installation and asked a bunch of questions which they then said i was asking too many questions and that all of the sudden was not approved for their equipment. He said he would bring by the original copy of the contract (4 days later he brought a copy not the original) and that they would not bill for the equipment however the terms and conditions states that you must cancel within 1 year through written correspondence if you haven't received the equipment within 30 days. We also can cancel anytime for any reason within 10 days (cooling off period) so we did that. Hopefully the victims don't start getting bills. READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS PEOPLE. If it looks like a page out the satan's bible then its probably a huge rip off. The contract had a company called Alberta Home & Water Solutions logo on it when i contacted them they lied through their teeth about numerous things just like the man who came to the door who says he's from Alberta Clean Water & Home Comfort Inc. WATCH OUT FOR THESE COMPANIES and do not answer your door to them. There is much more to this story and it is all documented but this is all we are willing to post for the time being.
