A man named Kenny came into my house convincing us that our water quality was inadequate. He used shocking phrases that made us alarmed, even going so far as to saying that they received up to 30 calls in this area about itchy irritated skin from the water and one dog having to have its stomach pumped. We asked what would happen if we did not do anything about it, and he warned us about all the possible cancers we could contract. They came through the house and tested the water. Saying that we should only be drinking bottled water. To me I was already on edge by someone coming to my door without a reputable company attached to what they were saying.. but they were targeting my elderly mother. To which English is not her first language. She asked several times.. is this service free? They said it was free. He asked for her Epcor bill. He said that he would check to see if we were qualified for a water “chemical remover”. This would help reduce our water bill. Eventually after selling her on all this water mambojumbo, he asks her for a void cheque.. at this point I said.. “um no. This seems fishy. this seems like a scam”. They argued with me and got offended. I asked them if she could give them the void cheque once they came back with the machine. They agreed but I knew that something was not right, but I wanted them to leave at this point. When they left we googled everything they said to us. The water test said our water was at 273 ppm. Which apparently was not advisable to drink and we should be boiling our water. When we searched it up, it said that anything under 500ppm is excellent. He even flashed how many void cheques he had.. maybe to convince us that that’s how many he received today and that’s why we should trust their services... but all I can think of is how many people they took advantage of today.

3 people came to my home on Friday July 6 around 7pm, I believe they were driving a white BMW. They asked for me by my first name and said they were doing water quality testing. I allowed them to enter and they told me that my water was no good and that we should boil it before drinking it, and that we might start losing our hair from showering with it and what not. They asked to see my hot water tank which I showed them and they said it was fine but we “need” a filtration system. They claimed it would save money on my Epcor bill and energy bill. They asked to see my bills and I told them I didn’t have any. They were asking who I bank with. They told me if I had been paying my bills on time I would qualify to get the filtration system for free and that they would come the next day to install it. They also somehow had my cell phone number and asked me to sign a piece of paper. They asked me to get a void check or a direct deposit form from my bank so they could deposit rebate money, I did not give them any financial information and they said that’s fine they would pick it up when they install the system. Once they left I called epcor who confirmed with me that this company is a scam and told me to call the police! I filed a complaint with the police as well.
