I was scammed for 4,500

Stated they were carnival cruise line and would upgrade my room I had to pay 3000 then it would be refunded. The room was only $400 I was then changed $4500... They were not even carnival. Scammers!

I needed to change a flight reservation and stupidly googled Alaska Air’s helpline rather than going through their website. Without paying enough attention I hit the number that popped up, and was connected to a woman with an Indian accent, however she did not announce that it was the Alaska helpline; I tentatively asked (thinking it was odd), and she said that yes, this was Alaska. I explained my situation and gave her my name and reservation number. She was telling me I would have to pay $200 up front on my credit card to change the reservation, which didn’t sound right. I said I would need to check dates and call back—she then gave me her personal number to call so that I “wouldn’t lose out on money.” She proceeded to call me back an hour later to check if I had my dates. I can’t believe it took me that long to realize this was a total scam, but I’ve been stressed and wasn’t thinking straight. Luckily I did not give her my credit card number. The name that popped up with her cellphone was FAREBARGAINER. Beware!!!
