Searching for reasonably priced refrigerator water/ice filters, I happened across the ajaxfilters.com website. (An ad may have even popped up in my web search, but I cannot recall that with surety.) Prices weren't super low and seemed fair, so I made a purchase for several filters. When the shipment finally arrived (several weeks later, tracking never materialized) things looked in order, except that my multi-pack filters were packaged individually. My credit card statement is what tipped me off to something being completely amiss. According to their website, the business is based in NJ, yet the credit card transaction accrued an international bank fee for processing in Dublin, Ireland. That led me to inspect the merchandise more closely. Comparing each unit to existing filters at home, there were some minor, yet obvious differences in the units. Packaging, while looking very similar (they did a great job on that) was off ever so slightly. The following video confirmed my suspicions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2WzZlBw0rc. There were some other indicators not included in the video that I will not share here. The NJ ScamPulse.com has determined the business to be "unreachable." The business address is that of a warehouse used by "many other businesses," and "mail has been returned as undeliverable" (words from the ScamPulse.com's letter to me.) Email inquiry to the business, seeking reimbursement has gone unanswered. ajaxfilters.com is a scam website. Don't be taken in.
