AHR - Government Grant Scam Reports & Reviews (8)

My cousin that has a significant history with drug use contacted me via Facebook messenger to say she had just purchased a house, truck, and received 50,000 cash from a grant. She proceeded to say she saw my name on the list the fed ex guy had- and tried to provide contact info for someone to give me this same grant.

I denied it, after a quick google search confirmed my suspicion that it was a scam. I informed her I was not interested because it is an easily identifiable scam- she will most certainly continue to contact people as she had thousands of Facebook “friends” and absolutely no shame about scamming them for drug money. Unfortunately.

Her name is Samantha Thompson, she lives in Anchorage Alaska. Birthday 8/29/1989

Attached is screen shots of the conversation and her Facebook profile. Last I was aware she had several warrants out for her- she likely still does. Her mother would be able to share her address and better identification information- her name is Vanessa Ostergard- her Facebook profile will also be attached via screenshot.

They reached out to me via a friend account on messager for Facebook. Asking if I heard the news about a AHR grant or Covid 19 Alleviation they gave her cash for $65000 as a grant. I just text a private number to apply and do it promptly. Later after applying I did research that this was a scam. They asked for address, name, sex, how much I make m, have my cell phone number and drivers license.

A friend of mine is being impersonated on Instagram.

I was "approved" for an $80k grant supposedly from an organization put together by US attorney general ******* *****.

The correspondence became pushy, information requested by me was not provided.

I checked with my friend who is aware of the scam also. Her belief is that they are out of the country scammers taking advantage of people in the current vulnerable state of the pandemic.

Everything was done through FACEBOOK MESSANGER. I had to answer a few questions like my age, email address, martial status and occupation. They wanted access to my Facebook account and changed my email and wanted my password. I was then told to go to Walmart and get gift cards (2) for $500 dollars each. I questioned everything and wanted to know more. I didnt give them bank account information however they have a picture of my license.

I was contacted by a person named Arnold Williams from AHR Grants. He said I could apply fro a grant to help with my medical bills. I gave him personal info including a picture of my drivers card. He said I was approved then spent the next 30 minutes trying to get me to pay $500 to release the money. He called me on the phone but it didn't register a call back number. He kept pressuring me to pay the money now. I told him I didn't have it and he wanted to knoe when I could get it the next day. He then told me ignoring his request is illegal. I can't believe I fell for ir but it seemed legit until he asked me fro $500 to release the grant. AHR is a scam or at least can not be trusted

I was told that if I sent $500 that I would be able to pay the taxes and shipping on $5,000 so I sent a postal money order $500 to the name Sandra Trinidad is the name that I put on the money order and I sent it to Van nuys California I did this on last Friday and I was supposed to receive a delivery on today and then they text me and asked me for another $400 I need this to get out I didn't have any money to lose I'm on a fixed income and I'm a heart patient so I would really appreciate if someone would do something about these people thank you for listening
