I rented a unit that is advertised on Airbnb from a host named Eddy in Portland, Maine for work-related housing. The unit was infested with roaches and uninhabitable. When I reported the issue and requested a refund, Eddy became evasive, stopped responding, and never returned my money. The address he provided in the lease is not where he can be reached, making it impossible to serve legal papers.

He has a pattern of deleting and reposting the same property on Airbnb under new listings to hide bad reviews. Multiple guests have reported similar issues.

Eddy is still actively renting this property and profiting from unsuspecting guests. Do NOT book with him on Airbnb or elsewhere. I am pursuing legal action and want to warn others so no one else is scammed.

If you have been affected, report him to Airbnb immediately and document everything.
