I received a call from the company AFSR and was told I had a certain amount of time to repay a debt. I was confused as i had already repaid this debt years prior. I was asked if i could get a little more information and was yelled at and cursed out. When I agreed to pay the $1150 I was told I had no more than 60 days to pay off the balance. When I asked why I had a deadline I was told that I should have paid it a long time ago. I gave them my card information and was insured I would be emailed my contract wishing 10 mins. After waiting 30 minutes I googled their company to find no infomation on them at all. I called back and asked why I couldn’t find anything on the internet about them if they were a legit business and I was told that they didn’t have to have anything about their business online. So I asked if they had any offices in my state and they said no. I asked how one can handle paperwork if there were no offices and they said through phone. So I asked where their home office was and was told South Carolina but even if I lived there I wouldn’t be able to go into their office. So I told them I wasn’t going to pay them until I was sure they were a real company. Once I got off the phone I called my bank and canceled my card. The same company called back with in minutes and said since I wasn’t Compliant they were taking me to court for $3,675. As I was trying to explain to the lady that I wasn’t opposed to paying but I wasn’t going to give my money to company I didn’t know anything about and who was persistent on not putting me at ease. And she then hung up in my face. Mind you they told me they are trying to get the money by the end of the year since in 2019 they won’t be able to take money from because it’s out of laws and regulations.
