I received a phone call on my land line. The caller I.D. was ADVOCATE and the phone number was 866-855-8556. When I answered there was a female voice recording that said, "Hello, this is my advocate calling on behalf of security health." [then she repeated that in Spanish] and continued to say, "Am I speaking with [my name] or an authorized representative? Please press one for yes or 3 for no." I know enough not to answer yes to an unknown caller but I DO have Security Health for my health insurance, so I pressed #3. Then the caller said "please say 'wait' if this person is available or 'message' for me to leave a message. There was a beep and I said "wait". The recorded voice said press any key when the person is available. So I pressed a key and there was the same message..."Am I speaking with [my name] or an authorized representative? Please press one for yes or 3 for no.". But then I hung up. I called the number that had come up on my caller I.D. and the voice said, "Thank you for returning my call and continued to ask the same message...wanting me to press #1 indicating it was indeed me. I called Security Health Customer Service and she confirmed that NO ONE FROM THEIR COMPANY HAD MADE ANY CONTACT WITH ME. She said she had Googled the phone number and it was definitely a SCAM. She told me to contact my local police department, Medicare and Social Security to inform them of this SCAM. I was not victimized by this SCAM - FYI.
