I closed on a mortgage loan at the end of August with Freedom Mortgage. In early November someone claiming to be from Freedom Mortgage e-mailed me asking for a 4506t form that they said was missed. Since it was so long after my loan closed I just ignored it. Then on 12/29/2020, someone from Advanced Data called and emailed my employer asking to verify my employment. Again being more than 4 months after my loan closed I told my employer to ignore it. I then called Freedom Mortgage's customer service line to see why they were wanting/needing this information. They said that there isn't any additional documentation that is needed and that they aren't associated with Advanced Data at all. Their website looks legit, but this is obviously a scam. The 4506t form is used to request tax forms from the IRS, so I'm guessing they want that data to maybe get access to banking information or something.
