I was first contacted by Sheryl Sand when she found my resume and faked being a company called ALN Network. She sent me information about her company including an EIN from New York, New York and said they were looking for a Global Supply Chain Manager who would be responsible for working with large companies to purchase electronics for employees of ALN. After several discussions, she offered me a full-time position earning $102,000 + commission if I made it past the 30-day trial period. My task was to purchase 4 iPhone 8s and send her a copy of the receipts which I did. She sent me a bank account at ** *** so I could pay my credit card off from ALN's account. Here's where the scam comes in. I called my credit card company and talked to several people asking them if my CC company received the money from ** *** ***. They kept telling me "Yes, they received the money." Sheryl then asked me to send the phones to a specific address in Deleware since I received payment, so I did. She then asked me to buy iTunes gift cards. I bought $3000 worth and 'paid' for them with the same account Sheryl sent me for the phones. The scam is that a credit card company may tell you they received the money, but they really haven't. The payment is sitting in limbo for 6 business days while the transfer from bank to bank occurs. In that 6 days, the sending bank can cancel the transaction, which Sheryl did once she received the iPhones in Deleware. I received a notification that the money transfer failed, and when I tried calling Sheryl back, no answer. I never saw the phones again, and I have $3000 in iTunes cards that I have to eat as well.
