Acting as Apple Reports & Reviews (3)

Apple emailed me and said i ordered something and log in to cancel, then asked for personal information

- Pelican Rapids, MN, USA

I received an email from "Apple" titled "Your Subscription Confirmation" and the email stated :

"We received your order, to refund/review follow the instruction in the attached file.

Sincerely,

Team A??Store"

The attached file, which I have attached for you is a false invoice. Having a few kids that have access to my apple ID I didn't think to question that apple was sending me an attached file invoice nor did the email "no_reply-mob-puchasenticeapps002@appstore-cancelation-purchase.support&quo... seem suspicious at the time because I could only see the no reply portion. Anyway, with later scrutiny, I realized that on the PDF at the bottom it says "Plese click cancel If you have never made this purchase if you do no confrim whitin 24 hours, your purchase can not be canceled again"

With all those spelling errors, I finally began to be suspicious. When you click on the Request Cancel Order which is also written on the PDF, it sends you to a website with the url: https://appstore-cancelation-purchase.support/Cancell_Order/Verify.php?[YOUR EMAIL]&Account-Unlock&sessionid=6buwSb7lRoMrQXps5I4nb0UgyjrYNpAUA5rsgzO7... />
Here it says "Your Apple ID is _____ Confirm your personal and billing information in order to cancel"

Then it asks for your "Personal Information": "first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, telephone number, and address."

Then it asks for your "Account Details", in small letters is your "Card Details": "Cardholders name, card number, expiry date, and card security code."

Third it says "Security": "Select a Security Question" and you have three choices:

1. Mother's Maiden Name

2. Driving License Number

3. Passport Number

If you fill in all of this and click "Cancel Transaction" it automatically switches to an "error unknown" or "file not found" page.

The transaction says that it happened yesterday. So the scammer has not attempted to take any money and the victim has not lost any money as known of.

I received an email saying that I had ordered something from the Apple Store and to click on links for status update and account information.
