I got a text message from (267) 481-7307 said “ I’m Andy from Ameriprise Financial Company, and I’m contacting you in regards of a Administrative/ Receptionist position you applied to.” My application was reviewed and approved to let him know if I was interested. So I responded to yes. He told me I had to download an app to speak with a hiring manager. The app was “Hangouts” gave me and email to contact them at [email protected]. So I proceeded. We started out by introducing our selves (Small talk) and we on by telling me what the job consists of, pay, and benefits. Also explained to me that the company was looking to hire 16 new people to open up an office in my location. He continued, sent me a link to read over about the company. And what they offer to customers. In the mix of that I had to answer questions (company retaliated) how many years of experience, what were my accomplishments, weak points, etc. like this was an assessment test. After we was through with that he was telling me that he will send over the questions to his supervisor to get an approval for hiring. So he messaged me back with in 2 hours, maybe less than that. Gave me an approval to hire. And sled me if everything sounded good. I said Absolutely. Well then he began to ask me and send me a list of things that I will need to work. Like computer, Pinter/ scanner, and software. I said “no I don’t have those things. What is it that you do for people who doesn’t have the equipment”. He said that he will mailed a check to me by mail. And that I had to go and purchase these ideas. Now, this is where questions start to run through my head. A person who has never met with me, never spoke with me on the phone, didn’t have any questions for me would be sending me a check to purchase expensive items. I then contacted an office that was located in the Baton Rouge, La area. That this not their protocol and that if their employees ever had to work from home the company them selves would provide equipment for you to use at home. Also they would do face to face interviews. I have pictures and texted messages from these people as proof!
